December 5, 2024 Hello oss contractors,Welcome to our last newsletter for the year 2024. This edition covers a new way to access Snohomish County Board of Health Code, best practices for reporting, and key reminders. If you’ve missed any previous newsletters, they can be found on our For Contractors webpage. Snohomish County board of Health Code The Snohomish County Board of Health Code is now officially published online in a format that is easier to navigate. Best practices for reportingIt is important that the comments section of OSS reports provides enough detail. This helps Health Department staff better understand the situation when responding to and investigating reports that show deficiencies. Key Reminders for INstallers & designersDesigners- Make sure you are using the most updated forms. This includes the revised example of the OSS easement template. It was recently updated to remove the cancellation clause. If outdated forms are submitted, you may be asked to correct information or resubmit.
Designers & Installers- Elapsed time meters (pump run time) and dose cycle counters (number of doses/day) are two features required within the timer panel. This is a requirement of the Pressure Distribution Systems RS&G Section 2.5.1.2.1.4.
- When using gravelless chambers, it’s crucial to accurately account for square footage of each chamber. Endplates only count as the square footage specified on the product’s specification sheet which can vary by manufacturer and type, and generally do not contribute to the total lineal or square footage requirement in the same way as the chambers themselves. If the square footage of endplates is proposed to be utilized, this must be clearly specified on design along with the total square footage of each endplate to ensure the total square footage requirement is maintained when installed.
