Top 3 Things to Know Now

There is a lot of information to keep track of about COVID-19. Here are three items to keep in mind at this time as you talk with those in your community about the pandemic:
  • Everyone is encouraged to take steps to keep loved ones safe during the holiday season. Avoid indoor gatherings with people you don't live with. If you will be around others, wear a face cover, keep the group small (five or fewer) and spend time outside or in a well-ventilated area.

  • The first doses of COVID-19 vaccine have arrived in Snohomish County. There is a phased approach to vaccinating people, with the first vaccines directed toward those who are at risk of exposure from work in a healthcare setting or long-term care facility, as well as residents of long-term care facilities. Exact timelines for each phase are not certain. It will take months to vaccinate enough people in Snohomish County to have herd immunity, but the vaccine is a key step on the way out of this pandemic. Information on vaccines will be updated at www.snohd.org/covidvaccine.

  • Testing has expanded and there are multiple sites operated by the Snohomish Health District around Snohomish County. There is no cost for COVID-19 testing at these locations, even for those who are uninsured or underinsured. People who go to these sites for testing will not be asked about immigration status and do not need to provide documentation of citizenship. To find more information about Health District testing sites and schedules, go to www.snohd.org/testing.
    • The testing webpage also is available in Spanish at www.snohd.org/pruebas.
