Special meeting of SNOHOMISH Health District Board, October 25

District board to reconvene and consider action on final dissolution 

SNOHOMISH COUNTY, Wash. – The Snohomish Health District Board of Health will hold a special meeting to consider actions related to formally dissolving the District. 

The Board will meet at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at 3020 Rucker Avenue in the Auditorium. A remote option also is available:

The District Board is separate from the current Snohomish County Board of Health and is reconvening for this special meeting as part of the process of closing out the District.

The former Snohomish Health District’s staff, programs, and services were integrated into Snohomish County government effective January 2023. They now make up the Snohomish County Health Department. With the transfer of the District’s body of work to the County Health Department, the Snohomish Health District effectively became an inactive special purpose district while remaining tasks were completed to prepare for its dissolution.   

If approved by the District Board, next steps include court filings to formally dissolve. The dissolution of the District would not change current staffing or programs in the Health Department.
