BACKGROUND

In March 2019, we held our first Pregnancy and Beyond conference. Over 300 people came together to learn best practices to improve outcomes for individuals with opioid use disorder and their infants.

During the conference, participants reviewed trends for opioid use and neonatal abstinence syndrome and learned best practices for caring for pregnant and parenting individuals and for babies affected by opioid use disorder. They received resources to share with colleagues and learned how to discuss possible opioid use with current or new patients.

Our shared goal is to ensure effective, compassionate care for pregnant and parenting individuals with opioid use disorder and babies with neonatal abstinence syndrome.
