EQUITABLE and COMPASSIONATE CARE For PREGNANT and PARENTING WOMEN Affected by OPIOID USE DISORDER
Due to the recent events around COVID-19 and with the guidelines given by Governor Jay Inslee, the planning committee has decided to cancel our Pregnancy and Beyond 2020 conference scheduled for April 29, 2020 at Wa Walton Event Center at Swinomish Resort Casino. It is an unfortunate situation that we are all in, but we hope to contribute by minimizing the spread of this virus. If you have already registered for this event, we will be issuing refunds through Eventbrite. We greatly appreciate your interest in this topic and we thank you for your understanding. We look forward to seeing you next year.
In March 2019, we held our first Pregnancy and Beyond conference. Over 300 people came together to learn best practicies to improve maternal and infant outcomes for women with opioid use disorder.
During the conference, participants reviewed trends for opioid use and neonatal abstinence syndrome and learned best practices for caring for pregnant and parenting mothers and for babies affected by opioid use disorder. They received resources to share with colleagues and learned how to discuss possible opioid use with current or new patients.
Our shared goal is to ensure effective, compassionate care for pregnant and parenting mothers struggling with opioid use disorder and babies with neonatal abstinence syndrome.
