Pregnancy Outcomes
Pregnancy outcomes include the rate of low birth weight (for singleton births), preterm births and multiple births. Data are presented from 1996-2005, and Snohomish County rates are compared with the Washington State rate. Comparisons are also made with the most recently available national data. Pregnancy Risk Factors
Pregnancy risk factors, including smoking during pregnancy and early initiation of prenatal care, are presented in the data sheets below. Data are presented from 1996-2005, and Snohomish County values are compared with Washington State. Comparisons are also made with the most recently available national data.
Fertility rates
Data sheets for the crude birth rate, the teen birth rate and the general fertility rate are presented in the documents below. The crude birth rate is the number of births per 1000 population. The teen birth rate is the number of births to women 15-17 per 1000 women 15-17 years old. The general fertility rate is the number of births to women of all ages per 1000 women in the population of age 15-44. Data are presented from 1996-2005, and Snohomish County values are compared with Washington State. Comparisons are also made using the most recently available national data.
