The ability to obtain safe food, water and the removal of sewage and garbage are sanitation services many of us take for
granted. These services not only make life more comfortable, they prevent and contain the spread of many communicable
diseases. When sanitation services are unavailable due to a disaster or long term power outage, there is a threat to public
health.
