Emergency Sanitation

What would you do if…
clean water wasn't available for drinking or washing?
you had no way to safely hold or prepare food?
you couldn't use your toilet?
you had no way to get rid of your garbage?
The ability to obtain safe food, water and the removal of sewage and garbage are sanitation services many of us take for granted. These services not only make life more comfortable, they prevent and contain the spread of many communicable diseases. When sanitation services are unavailable due to a disaster or long term power outage, there is a threat to public health.

The following resources can help you prepare and respond appropriately during an event to maintain sanitation and public health.
