Influenza
Influenza (the flu) is a contagious respiratory (coughing) illness caused by influenza viruses. Symptoms of influenza include: cough, fever (usually >101°), runny nose, extreme tiredness, headache and body aches. Influenza can cause mild to severe illness. The best way to prevent influenza is to get a yearly flu shot.

Influenza surveillance is conducted throughout our county and involves schools, health care providers, and nursing homes.
