Communicable Disease Control and Public Health Emergency Preparedness & Response Program
Program Services:
- Detect diseases, investigate disease reports and identify case contacts for all Washington State Notifiable Conditions
- Provide our local health care providers with the most up-to-date information relating to communicable diseases
- Investigate disease outbreaks, coordinate with:
- Health care providers
- Snohomish Health District (SHD) programs & other public health agencies
- WA State Department of Health (DOH)
- Local & State Homeland Security Agencies
- Center for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC)
- Plan and prepare for responding to local public health emergencies
- Provide community public health education targeted towards:
- Emergency preparedness and response
- Reducing transmission of communicable diseases and promoting healthy behaviors in Snohomish County
- Maintain network with local emergency responders, laboratories, law enforcement and local physicians
- Process suspected foodborne illness complaints and collaborate with:
- Snohomish Health District (SHD) Environmental Health Division
- WA State Department of Health (DOH)
- Local Restaurants
