Prior to opening a new food establishment or making changes to an existing food establishment in Snohomish County, the Washington State Retail Food Code requires that plans be reviews and approved by Snohomish Health District. This multi-step review process will help ensure that your plans and equipment meet state and local health requirements.

IMPORTANT: If this establishment will undergo major construction or remodeling of the kitchen, you must submit the New Restaurant Plan Review Packet.
Remodel A Food Service Establishment / Revised Approved Plan
Revisions include changing menu, equipment, layout of kitchen, or adding catering or specialized processes.
In Snohomish County, food establishment permits are not transferrable from one operator/owner to another. Prior to taking over an existing food business, submit change of ownership application.
