Once I get the vaccine, can I stop wearing a mask?

Governor Inslee instated a mask mandate that requires everyone age 5 and older, even those who are fully vaccinated, to wear a mask in most indoor public settings. This mandate is effective August 23, 2021. Masks are strongly encouraged in crowded outdoor settings, as well.

Dr. Chris Spitters, health officer for the Snohomish Health District, also issued a new masking directive effective August 12. This directive applies to indoor spaces that are open to the public, including retail, grocery stores, government buildings, and other businesses and places where members of the public can enter freely.

There is a lot of great information out there, including from the Washington State Department of Health, the Centers for Disease Controls and Prevention, the Department of Labor and Industries, and Governor Jay Inslee. We encourage you to check out those resources.
