Proposed organizational structure of Health District to be discussed

SNOHOMISH COUNTY, Wash. – The Snohomish Health District Board of Health will hold its regularly scheduled meeting from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 11, 2017. The meeting will be held in the District’s Auditorium located at 3020 Rucker Ave, Everett, Wash.

Board Appoints Interim Administrator for Snohomish Health District

Environmental health director Jefferson Ketchel to assume role April 1

SNOHOMISH COUNTY, Wash. – At a special meeting convened on Monday, March 20, the Board of Health appointed Jefferson Ketchel as the Snohomish Health District’s interim administrator effective April 1. The appointment was made following the resignation of current deputy director Pete Mayer, who will be leaving April 7 to become the new Assistant Executive Director for Metro Parks Tacoma.

SNOHOMISH COUNTY, Wash. Expanding access to secure medicine disposal programs is a key strategy for preventing prescription drug abuse and heroin. The Board of Health adopted a countywide secure medicine return ordinance in 2016, now incorporated within Snohomish Health District Sanitary Code Chapter 15.

Board to appoint interim administrator and hear Health Officer’s farewell address

The Board of Health will convene on a special day and time for the purpose of appointing an Interim Administrator for the Snohomish Health District and to conduct regular Board of Health business as set forth on the agenda below. More Snohomish County students making smarter, healthier choices

Healthy Youth Survey shows gains and losses regarding substance use

SNOHOMISH COUNTY, Wash. – In the first of set of data released from the 2016 Healthy Youth Survey, the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services focused on results surrounding youth substance abuse. Thirteen of the school districts in Snohomish County participated in the surveys distributed last October, adding up to 14,630 sixth, eighth, tenth, and twelfth graders whose answers shed some light around the health of our youth.
