Vacunas gratis contra la tos ferina para los adultos

Como respuesta a la epidemia de tos ferina ocurriendo en el área, Snohomish Health District (el Distrito de Salud de Snohomish) y Pacific Medical Center ofrecerá vacunas gratis para proteger a los adultos contra la tos ferina, también llamada tos convulsiva o coqueluche, de 9 am a 1 pm el sábado, 21 de abril en el centro médico Pacific Medical Center, 19401 40th Ave. W., Lynnwood. Personas sin citas son bienvenidas, pero se recomienda llamar al 425.339.8694 de 9 am a 1 pm el jueves 19 de abril para recibir una cita.

Adults can get free Tdap shots at Cascade Valley Hospital

SNOHOMISH COUNTY, Wash. – Commute to your free whooping cough shot after work on Wednesday, April 4 from 4-8 p.m. at Cascade Valley Hospital, 330 S. Stillaguamish Ave., Arlington, Wash. Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments are recommended by calling 425.339.8694 between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Tuesday, April 3.

Free Health & Beauty Fair, March 17

Empowering African American women to make their health a top priority

SNOHOMISH COUNTY, Wash. --- Snohomish Health District and community partners will present a free Health & Beauty Fair on March 17 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at The Little Red School House, 14 E. Casino Rd., Everett, Wash. The event supports National Women & Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day and National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day. The fair will highlight important health issues and information for black women about heart disease, HIV/AIDS, and physical fitness. Local beauty professionals also will offer beauty tips, products, and services to fair participants. The featured keynote speaker will be Marilyn Calbert, African American Education/Outreach Specialist for YWCA Women’s Health, presenting, "Beauty is more than skin deep—but it doesn’t hurt to accentuate the positive!"

Splash: Flood recovery health & safety tips

Pre-flood prep and post-flood clean-up pointers from the Snohomish Health District

SNOHOMISH COUNTY, Wash. – Has high water soaked your home? Local public health wants to help you tackle the flood clean-up with your own safety and well-being in mind. Snohomish Health District’s "Emergency Flood Sanitation" tip sheet includes the "how-to’s" necessary to keep food and drinking water safe, disinfect wells, dispose of sewage and garbage, and clean up your home and belongings after floodwaters recede. The four-page handout is available for download at www.snohd.org (search for "flood"), and at the Snohomish Health District Environmental Health office at 3020 Rucker Ave., Suite 104, Everett, Wash.
