Voluntary Closure at Ivar’s Mukilteo Landing Following Norovirus-like Illnesses

Reminder to notify the Health District who become ill after eating out

SNOHOMISH COUNTY, Wash. – The Snohomish Health District is investigating a small number of reports of norovirus-like illness in people who dined at the Ivar’s Mukilteo Landing located at 710 Front Street in Mukilteo on Saturday, April 14. It remains unclear if the illness was caused by food, or if an individual that was ill came into contact with the restaurant’s patrons. Due to the relatively short duration of symptoms, lab confirmation of the type of illness has not been available. Out of an abundance of caution, Ivar’s elected to voluntarily close the restaurant on Wednesday for disinfection.

2017 Health Champions to be Recognized

SNOHOMISH COUNTY, Wash. – Following regular business at this month’s Board of Health meeting, the Snohomish Health District will recognize individuals and organizations in its 2017 Health Champions ceremony. The meeting will be from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 10 in the District’s Auditorium located at 3020 Rucker Ave, Everett, Wash. The awards presentation will begin at 4:00 p.m., also in the Auditorium.

Snohomish County is Third Healthiest County in Washington State

New County Health Rankings show mixed results for Snohomish County

SNOHOMISH COUNTY, Wash. – According to the ninth annual County Health Rankings, Snohomish County is ranked the third healthiest county overall in the state. The rankings released last week by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute are designed to be used as a snapshot of health indicators. These indicators include social and environmental factors, as well as health behaviors, to develop a comparison with other counties in the state and nationally.

Health District Now Accepting Online Permits and Applications

Expanded services with new, customer-friendly options

SNOHOMISH COUNTY, Wash. – Business for the 150-200 customers that typically visit the Snohomish Health District each day will hopefully become easier with the added online services rolling out February 1. Following the successful launch of online reporting and invoice payments, the Health District is now ready to begin accepting online permit and plan review applications.
