Board of Health Charts Path Forward

Focus to be on governance rather than consolidation

SNOHOMISH COUNTY, Wash. – On the heels of a report by The William D. Ruckelshaus Center, the Board of Health indicated a preference to put aside the question of the Snohomish Health District consolidating with Snohomish County government. Instead, the Board will reevaluate its charter and committee structures in order to make governance adjustments needed to move the agency forward.

A Look At Marijuana Usage After Legalization

New report highlights use, trends and statistics in Snohomish County

SNOHOMISH COUNTY, Wash. – Since the first recreational marijuana store opened in Washington in 2014, Snohomish County has had 41 retail licenses approved by the Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board. With the passage of Initiative 502, questions were posed on how the legalization of marijuana would impact overall usage. To begin answering those questions, the Snohomish Health District and Snohomish County Human Services have released its first baseline report on marijuana in Snohomish County.
