A Look At Marijuana Usage After Legalization

New report highlights use, trends and statistics in Snohomish County

SNOHOMISH COUNTY, Wash. – Since the first recreational marijuana store opened in Washington in 2014, Snohomish County has had 41 retail licenses approved by the Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board. With the passage of Initiative 502, questions were posed on how the legalization of marijuana would impact overall usage. To begin answering those questions, the Snohomish Health District and Snohomish County Human Services have released its first baseline report on marijuana in Snohomish County.

Norovirus-Like Illness in a Local Childcare

Multiple Children and Staff Sickened

SNOHOMISH COUNTY, Wash. The Snohomish Health District was notified on Wednesday regarding multiple children and staff sickened with a norovirus-like illness. The Starbright Early Learning Center in Everett has had numerous children and staff out with vomiting and diarrhea. The symptoms closely match that of norovirus. The Snohomish Health District is working closely with the Department of Early Learning and Starbright to ensure that ill children stay home.

Snohomish Health District Monitoring Tuberculosis Exposure

Low Risk Exposure at Edmonds Community College

SNOHOMISH COUNTY, Wash. Snohomish Health District is monitoring an Edmonds Community College student who was recently diagnosed with tuberculosis disease in the lung. Classes at the college are operating on a normal schedule but the student is not currently attending classes and will not return to school until there is no public health concern.
