Local Representation Continues on State Board of Health

Recent appointments and recognition by Governor Inslee

SNOHOMISH COUNTY, Wash. – Two of the Snohomish Health District’s Board of Health members were recently recognized by Governor Inslee and the Washington State Board of Health. The mission of the State Board of Health is to provide statewide leadership in developing and promoting policies that prevent disease, and improve and protect the public's health for all people in Washington.

Last year, Snohomish County saw record numbers of influenza-related school absenteeism, hospitalizations and deaths. Port Susan Shellfish Harvest Closure, Oct. 19, 2017

Elevated levels of toxin discovered

SNOHOMISH COUNTY, Wash. – The Washington State Department of Health has notified the Snohomish Health District that the Port Susan area is closed to all species of recreational shellfish harvesting due to elevated levels of paralytic shellfish poisoning (PSP) toxin.
