New Overdose Prevention Resource Guide Hits the Streets in Snohomish County

Articles and directory helps get resources, information into the community

SNOHOMISH COUNTY, Wash. – Attendees at Saturday’s Overdose Prevention Night with the Everett AquaSox were among the first in Snohomish County to receive copies of the new Overdose Prevention Resource Guide. The guide features articles centered around a new “10 Things to Know About Opioids” campaign developed by members of the Snohomish County Opioid Response “MAC” Group.

Upcoming Overdose Awareness Events in Snohomish County

Public invited to events for those lost, struggling with opioid addiction

EVERETT, Wash.  In 2017, Snohomish County lost over 90 people to an opioid overdose. The tragedy of overdose is far too frequent but is ultimately preventable. Overdose prevention, education and treatment play a crucial role in saving lives. Two upcoming events are aimed at providing more awareness and connection to resources in Snohomish County.

Reports of 57 Opioid Overdoses Within Seven Days in Snohomish County

First-ever coordinated data gathering yields important insights

The Snohomish Health District—in partnership with the Snohomish County Opioid Response Multi-Agency Coordination (MAC) Group—completed a second 7-day point-in-time data collection for opioid overdoses from July 9-15, 2018. The result: 57 overdoses in one week, 2 of which were fatal.

Team joining leadership cohort represented by 20 health agencies nationwide
